Bryon Carlson has been an entrepreneur at heart from the very beginning. He opened his first business, Rent-It-Center, in Rochester, MN, back in 1978, where he provided rentals for everything from tools to televisions.

Two years later he wanted to expand the rental business a bit more to encompass rentals for meetings, expos, and trades shows, eventually opening Mid America Convention Service. Over the past 32 years, his business has grown beyond the reaches of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

Bryon’s organizational skills made their way into other event companies when he became the co-owner of the Wedding Extravaganza in 2004 and bought The Creative Side Event Design with his stepdaughter Christina Welke. Over the past 40 years, Bryon’s eye for coordination and development in the event rental business has built a strong reputation of success.
